Alison and Alex invited me to join their family and friends at Pop’s in Durham before their big day. I had never been to Pop’s but I cannot wait to go back! The evening was kicked off with cocktails in the bar, afterwards guests moved into the larger dining room and were treated to a very yummy meal. The night would not be complete without a few toasts from guests.
The next morning we were up early to meet Alison and her bridesmaids at The Washington Duke Inn for some pre-ceremony festivities. Once the girls were dressed we headed to Duke Chapel to get Alison ready for her big day!Alison was stunning in her dress which she accessorized with a cathedral veil, necklace and matching hairpiece. I love photographing brides with cathedral veils, there are so many fun things you can do with it and Alison did not disappoint.Alex met with my assistant for pre-wedding pics under the groom’s arcade at the Chapel. As you can see the boys were very relaxed and enjoying their time in the spotlight. Alex has a very fun, playful personality which I love, he just makes me laugh. But all joking aside, Alex was beaming as he watched his gorgeous bride walk down the aisle with her equally proud father. After the ceremony, the bridal party headed to Fullsteam Brewery in Durham for a bite to eat, ping pong and much needed relaxation. It is rare that I have an opportunity to capture fun, informal pics such as these, so when Alison and Alex asked if I would accompany them for a little, I was very excited. They sweetened the deal by feeding me. After I left Fullsteam, I had a few hours to relax before heading back to photograph their reception at The Nasher Museum. I had never been inside the museum before… my jaw dropped at just how gorgeous a venue it is.Congratulations Alison and Alex!
