Congratulations to Shannon and Mike on their July wedding nuptials! They chose to have their wedding in Shannon’s hometown of Lancaster, PA. Shannon and her two other siblings grew up across the street from me, so I was very familiar with the family. In fact, two years ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Shannon’s older sister’s wedding in Lancaster as well. I always love trips home, so I jumped at the chance to photograph Shannon’s wedding when they asked me last year!

We started the day with Shannon and her bridesmaids at her parent’s home. The atmosphere was relaxed and Shannon was all smiles. When her bridesmaid placed the finishing touches on this gorgeous bride, Shannon held back tears as the realization she is now a bride set in. It was extremely hot on the wedding day, so we limited our outdoor time as much as possible. But I couldn’t resist taking the girls outside for a few portraits. And I must say, they were all willing to do so!

Next we headed to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Lancaster. It is a beautiful, historical Church in the center of town! A little surprise for Shannon came midway through the ceremony when the priest asked the best man for the rings. He looked puzzled before turning to the groomsmen next to him and on down the line. No worries though, the groomsmen had the ring all along and one by one passed it up the line to Mike who was eager to place it on his beautiful bride’s hand. This got a good laugh from the guests as well as Shannon.

After the ceremony, Shannon and Mike greeted their guests before heading over to The Inn at Leola Village for pictures. This hidden gem hosts beautiful historic charm nestled in the nearby town of Leola. Guests were treated to a fine dinner followed by a night of dancing! I absolutely had a blast and can’t thank Shannon and Mike enough for allowing me to be a part of their big day!
