Allie and Adam ~ Downtown Raleigh Engagement

I met with Allie and Adam just a few months ago to discuss their wedding day plans and their engagement. I was thrilled when they agreed Downtown Raleigh would be a great backdrop for their engagement session. Originally scheduled for March, we moved the date of their session to April to allow the natural greenery to bloom. The day was perfect! And Allie and Adam brought their best friend Franklin to join us for a few pictures. He is such a cutie, and very energetic. I think I’m in love.

I am very much looking forward to Allie and Adam’s November wedding. Please help me congratulate them on their engagement!

Lorie-Ann and Brett ~ Proximity Hotel Wedding

I absolutely love Lorie-Ann and Brett! They are the nicest couple you will ever meet, and I am so happy I had the opportunity to be a part of their big day!

I met with them last summer for their engagement session at Duke. This was my first time meeting Brett and he had me laughing from start to finish. A few months later, I met with Lorie-Ann and her maid-of-honor for the Bridal session at the Proximity Hotel. I was in awe when Lorie-Ann stepped out in her wedding dress. She was absolutely breathtaking. We had a great session and I could not wait for their wedding day!

The morning of their wedding was crisp but gorgeous day, not a cloud in the sky. I arrived a little early to capture details of Lorie-Ann’s wedding gown before she dressed. Lorie-Ann and Brett wanted to present each other with a wedding gift shortly before the ceremony was to begin. Brett’s reaction to his brand new watch was fantastic! He repeatedly said, “I love this woman.” Brett’s best man presented Lorie-Ann with hew gift. She was speechless when she opened the box to reveal a beautiful necklace.

Just minutes before the ceremony was to begin, Lorie-Ann and Brett chose to meet but not see each other, wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise! Brett was so excited and even giggled when he felt Lorie-Ann’s hand on his back. They whispered “I love you” to each other and Lorie-Ann even stole a kiss before Brett was escorted out of the room.

As guests took to their seats, Brett eagerly awaited his queue to take his place at the head of the room. He could not hold back his emotion as Lorie-Ann made her way down the aisle, hand and hand with her adoring father. The ceremony was filled with laughter, love and joy.

After the ceremony concluded, we had a few minutes for portraits with the couple. I love how they turned out!

The reception was kicked off with Lorie-Ann and Brett’s first dance as man and wife. This is my most favorite part of the day to photograph. The raw emotion between the two of them was so beautiful to see. You could feel it throughout the entire room. After a dance with her dad, the couple enjoyed a delicious meal before the maid-of-honor and best man made their way to the center of the dance floor to toast to the newly married couple. The toasts were filled with laughter and tears, and are some of the best toasts I have had the pleasure to listen to. It is truly amazing these two found each other and I am so happy for them both.

After the cake cutting, the party was in full swing as guests danced all night before sending the couple on their way!

Congratulations Lorie-Ann and Brett!

Lorie-Ann Bridal Portrait Photography ~ Proximity Hotel

Shortly before Lorie-Ann’s wedding day, I had an opportunity to see her all dressed up for her Bridal Portrait session at the Proximity Hotel. Lorie-Ann was absolutely stunning and I am so excited to finally be able to share some of my favorite images. Although we did not have access to many parts of the Hotel, we were able to find some great locations to utilize. I hope you enjoy!

Brittany and David ~ River Landing Wedding Photography

Congratulations to Brittany and David who were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at River Landing Golf and Country Club. The day was simply perfect from beginning to end. Brittany looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown and she had a great accessory to compliment her dress, her best furry friend Misty.

Brittany and David decided to see each other before the ceremony to steal a few intimate moments together. David was eager to see his soon-to-be-wife and she didn’t disappoint. Misty joined in on the fun too!

Afterwards, the couple returned to their respective rooms to prepare for the long awaited ceremony! Set atop a balcony overlooking a beautiful lake, guests took to their seats as Brittany waited alongside her dad for the procession to begin. David took his place and waited patiently as family and bridal party made their way down the aisle. The music cued and the grand doors to the balcony opened. There she was, beaming with excitement and a few nerves. As the couple read their vows aloud and exchanged rings, a gust of wind wisped Brittany’s cathedral veil into the air, it was breathtaking and perfectly timed. But the most important message throughout the ceremony was the coming together of two beautiful families.

The reception kicked off with the couple’s first dance as man and wife. Afterwards we headed outside for a few sunset portraits. I love sunset portraits and Brittany and David braved the extreme heat to capture some magical moments!

But the highlight of the night for me was Brittany’s dance with her dad. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. As dad squeezed his beloved daughter, she held back tears and nestled her head on his chest. It was such a sweet and tender moment.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Pendergraft!

Meredith and Cole ~ Sutherland Wedding

Congratulations to Meredith and Cole on their wedding nuptials! I met Meredith and Cole through a former bride and new instantly that I was going to love working with them. Meredith is such a sweet person and Cole is the perfect complement to her. They are both so gracious and easy-going that I knew our personalities gelled.

When the wedding day finally arrived, their outdoor ceremony scheduled on the lawn at The Sutherland, was threatened by lingering storm clouds overhead. But thankfully the weather held off for the ceremony to continue as planned. And just as the ceremony ended and we began taking portraits on the grounds, the skies cleared and the sun finally made its appearance!

The Sutherlands new outdoor pavilion was the perfect setting for a night filled with laughter, love and lots of dancing! The couple kicked off the night with their first dance as husband and wife and treated guests to a scrumptious dinner as the sun set. It was perfect!
