As many of you know, my husband and I foster kittens from time to time with Chatham Animal Rescue and Education (CARE). Although we are between fosters at the moment, I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing some of the other fosters currently in the program. I love them all and wish I could adopt but my household is full. However, if you or anyone you know is interested in adopting a furry little friend, please check out Jozy and Frodo.

Frodo is a very loving and playful boy. He loves humans, cats, and mellow dogs. He likes to be right in the middle of the action, is very comfortable hanging out with a group of giggling teenagers during a sleepover or sitting in his foster dad’s lap while watching TV. Save a spot for him in bed too, he’s a snuggler!

Frodo would really like a cat best friend. He has a confident, outgoing personality, so a good playmate for him would be a cat or an older kitten that is also confident and outgoing. He’s a big boy, but still acts like a kitten at times. If you would like to find out more about Frodo, fill out an application by visiting: and we’ll talk!

Jozy is a beautiful girl! She has the softest black and white fur. She is not very large, weighing in at less than 10 pounds. Jozy is a sweet girl who enjoys a good brushing and will climb up on your lap and purr and purr when she wants some attention. She doesn’t need a lot of space and is content to lounge on a chair near wherever you happen to be. Jozy is a special cat and will need a special adopter; one who is patient and caring. Jozy must have had a hard life before she came to us as she needs quite a bit of time to warm to her new surroundings, and she has a little bit of attitude. She will let you know when she’s had enough attention and needs some alone time, but will soon be back rubbing on your leg, or just sitting nearby. If you lie down on the couch, be prepared to have a warm furry cat cuddling up beside you! Jozy can be very playful and loves to chase and bat ribbon and string. She’s very wary of other cats and dogs and needs to be an only pet. She will do fine with children over 12.

So the next guy is not available for adoption, but he is just so stink’n cute I had to share some photos. Meet Jack, Frodo’s playmate. Sadly, Jack has a heart condition and must remain calm to avoid any incidents. Thus, playtime with Frodo is limited. Jack is 5 yrs old and with his condition, he is on borrowed time. But he doesn’t let that get him down. This 5 yr old is stronger than ever and appears to be beating the odds!
